RATINGS
You Rate The Records, We Dont!
Each participant will have opportunity to have 2 submissions reviewed for the live audience
After each submission is played, the audience
gives a rating from 0-5 or using emojis to convey
the rating number; followed by a short animation
of the rating received
Keep in mind, in music, biases can cloud
judgments because it's a personal experience.
So, on the Hip Hop Matters Magazine show,
we don't rate music ourselves…
Hence our slogan:
“You Rate The Records, We Don’t!”
Our responsibility as hosts is to share our
opinions, but we never outweigh our audience.
We believe in collective evaluation, where diverse
perspectives matter. We keep things fair,
especially when bigger artists may get more
ratings. Our goal is to let the true essence
of the music shine through without bias,
celebrating the diversity of hip-hop culture.
